Wood Burning is Surprisingly Environmentally Friendly

One thing that most people do not know is that wood burning is actually environmentally friendly. Essentially the same amount of carbon that is released from a tree that falls and decomposes in the forest is the same amount released during the wood burning process. If trees that would have otherwise fallen down are harvested and used as firewood and are burned in an efficient stove used to heat a home - replacing the consumption of oil or gas - it is environmentally friendly.
